tendentialism<\/h2>

Even in my early days, I developed what I call \u201ctendentialism,\u201d derived from the English word \u201ctendential.\u201d In this independent style, I capture tendencies – whether on a metaphysical-emotional level or as conscious knowledge- and translate them onto the canvas in the form of small structures. Only when viewed as a whole does the dynamic of the image fully emerge.<\/p>

It is no coincidence that tendentialism evokes Heisenberg\u2019s uncertainty principle. My ongoing fascination with physics finds a kindred spirit in Werner Heisenberg. Every brushstroke creates or influences a new tendency. Even a seemingly precise detail cannot provide fundamental information about the whole, yet it still indicates a clear direction. This means that executing this painting style requires a state of \u201chigh intuitive concentration.\u201d<\/p>

“inside your shadow” \/ “Im Inneren Deines Schattens”<\/strong><\/summary>

No. 536, 2012 – 2016, 120 x 100 cm, acryl on canvas, framed

I worked on this image in several shifts, about four years, until the \u201ctrue\u201d image and message revealed itself. The image expresses the power of one’s shadows, their abstract form and the way they evoke deep, introspective meanings. Shadows are often seen as a reflection of the unconscious and represent parts of ourselves that we don’t always acknowledge – our fears, desires or hidden emotions. Nevertheless, it is a force within us that has an effect similar to an aura.
When we look at our shadows, we are often confronted with what lies in our subconscious, things that we may be trying to hide or avoid. Shadows don’t always reflect the whole story – sometimes they’re incomplete, distorted representations of who we are. The lines and swirling patterns in your image can symbolize the complexities and powers of our inner lives and the ongoing process of understanding the hidden parts of ourselves. We can only look as deeply as we are willing to face these shadows.<\/p>\n\n

“the dance” <\/strong><\/summary>

The picture was created over several years until it was finally completed. It shows a dance that I was able to experience as a swing dancer in 2018 and painted intuitively or unconsciously afterwards. At first I didn’t realize what I was painting, but my subconscious showed me the way. This dance was unique and very special for me. It was a mixture of swing dance, contact improvisation and Butoh and obviously and lastingly touched me.<\/p>\n\n

This is an early work from 1991 and is the head of the painting “Fleeing Sensuality,” which has been privately owned by an investor since 1994. The painting depicts the sparkling facets of a beautiful woman’s sensuality.<\/p>\n\n

“The Fool” stands on its own. It combines both ingenious and surreal ideas. It is far removed from reality, yet simultaneously plays with the here and now as if it were juggling balls. It manages to transform gravity. This work of art emerged from deep within the soul of Uly Paya, here still bearing the signature of his real name, which he changed to Uly Paya in 1995.<\/p>\n\n
